‘WHO AM I IN CHRIST?’
John 1:12
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name…
When we receive Christ as Lord, we are given a new identity, the old is gone, the new has come. (2nd Corinthians 5:17)
Having a new identity in Christ means one cannot operate the same way anymore. From the moment you allow the Lordship of Christ, you simply cease to exist, you die and Christ lives. This means that even your decision-making changes and what informs the path you choose becomes entirely what He wants.
Knowing who you are in Christ causes us to understand what He has equipped us to do. We no longer look at ourselves and our insecurities and all these flaws, we simply look to Christ and adopt who He is. We constantly all we think and have been told we are and take up the new identity.
We at this point own the skills He says we own, we are the people He says we are, and that’s all that matters. It is from this understanding that the boldness to walk into whatever God places in your heart to pursue as a business will come from.
Romans 8:16
The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God and if children, then heirs, heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ…
I do not know what’s higher than this; being called heirs of God and therefore co-heirs with Christ. Understanding and personalizing this identity is the Genesis to walking in purpose. God has constantly addressed who we are as sons.
John 1:13
…who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
God constantly affirms our identity in His word all the time. Our source of affirmation and validation should be that alone, the word of God.
It is here that we’ll know and understand who we are, how we are gifted and what we are called into.
Love and light!
”We no longer look at ourselves and our insecurities and all these flaws, we simply look to Christ and adopt who He is”
Thank you for this.
I am who He says I am…
It’s not about my records and lack of thereof…
Taking this in 🙂
