THE MALKIA COLLECTION

Happy September! Today, we take a look into our first collection. Our first ever collection was this year, February 2020. It was then that we launched the Malkia collection. It has been about 7 months since then and it was through that collection that God began to open our eyes to more possibilities like beginning to sell men’s jewelry. So, how did the Malkia collection come to be?

Malkia collection was an idea born off of a partnership that we were honored to have with the reigning Miss Africa Calabar, Irene Ng’endo Mukii. We had the privilege of being her official jewelry sponsor as she went through her training, that’d eventually lead to her crowning.

“And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.”

Genesis 1:28

God gave us dominion over all He had created. The spaces He calls us into are areas of reign as well. The vision for this collection was to remind people that there’s something specific you have been called into, that is your area of reign and we shouldn’t compare ourselves with others. Grace to reign in the spaces appointed for us is always availed.

The collection had both simple and sophisticated pieces. This was to include different styles of the queens and kings we serve. It was specifically ‘malkia’ because we didn’t have any male pieces at the time.

This was the first time we incorporated different material into what we make as opposed to just brass metal as we used to do earlier. Some of the material incorporated include bone, stone and bead. These are elements we realized that we can add on to the detail and the beauty of what we make.

Here are some pieces that featured in this collection …
