‘WALK BY FAITH’

2^nd Corinthians 5:7

For we walk by faith, not by sight.

There’s a phrase that states ‘Seeing is believing’, that we have all interacted with at some point in time. It’s usually really logical way of doing things isn’t it? We all wanna see the whole picture of anything before we can set foot in it, you know, just to be safe.

Very many of us are stuck right here. We have sought the Lord for direction and He has revealed it to us. We know what exactly He is calling us to do but we get stuck at the fact that we still can’t make sense of how. Most believers are really enthusiastic about walking in purpose until we get to this space and questions begin to form. Where will I get the capital? Who will support my idea? Is it even viable in the market today? Who else is doing something similar? Will it sustain me? The list goes on and on.

Brethren, we walk by faith and not by sight. What is Faith?

Hebrews 11:1

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

There’s nothing physical about faith. It is by the same faith that we have received the gift of salvation in the first place (Ephesians 2:8) For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves…

Here’s an instance we can borrow from among many that are in scripture. As the children of Israel are in exodus from Egypt to the land of promise, they encounter a challenge in the form of the Red sea, and being followed by Pharaoh’s horsemen. What does the Lord say to Moses to say to them? Exodus 14:15 And the Lord said to Moses, ’Why do you cry to me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward…’ He then goes forth to give Moses what to do when they get to the Red sea. Notice here that God does not tell them to stand and wait for Moses to stretch His rod, it is as they move that God was going to make a way. The same is seen in so many other instances within scripture.

In the New Testament, as Christ is healing, He very often comes from the place of faith saying statements like, ‘Your faith has made you well, Be it to you according to your faith…’ Faith is inevitable for a Christian. Besides, it is impossible to please God without it (Hebrews 11:6), But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

In the Kingdom, we see what we have believed and not vice versa. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. (Proverbs 3:5). Do not worry about the details and physical aspects, walk in faith and let Him perfect everything else for you.
